The ethnographic collection of Santa Caterina is housed in the premises of an ex-blacksmith's forge. The museum documents the work, traditions and rituals related to the fire and the tree in Mount Amiata.
The exhibition is divided into two sections: in the first one there is a collection of objects used for work and domestic activities, however linked to the fire cycle. The second focuses on the "stollo", a long wooden perch, which summarizes the feast of Focarazza: an ancient rite dedicated to Santa Caterina d'Alessandra which is renewed on November 24th each year as the most important holiday event for the entire community. local. The evocative phases of the party are illustrated also through a rich photographic documentation. The museum also collects a significant collection of traditional games for children. Guided tours and educational workshops are carried out.
